May 26: Gemini New Moon
Change has arrived and the New Moon at 06°06 Gemini (twins!) at 11:02PM ET on May 26, is here to help us make sense of this brave new world. The Gemini New Moon is in aspect to Saturn in Aries for the first time in nearly 30 years. Wow.
Saturn entered Aries at 11:36PM ET on May 24, 2025, ushering us into a new three year cycle of standing in our own personal power. What's more, Saturn immediately conjoined Neptune, the planet of dreams, who entered Aries on March 30th. Their planetary pairing is some of the biggest astro news of the year because they are rare. These two haven't met since 1989! I'll be sharing a longer overview about these two on Patreon soon. Their conjunction of the biggest influences of the Summer because they will be squaring Jupiter once it enters Cancer on June 9th.
Saturn is the planet of responsibility, maturity, and wisdom. Its transits show us the limits of our actions and beliefs in whatever area of life it is moving through. We reap what we've sown when Saturn comes to town. We may run out of room if we've been delaying and get forced to make decisions or deal with the hard truth of situations.
Saturn and Neptune in Aries are bridging our awareness into survival consciousness fears. The ways humans have always related to each other from a place of competition and domination. Humans hold core beliefs, based on our epigenetics and survival programming, that influence how we relate to life from a place of struggle. Our desire to be the best, to win, to have more, and always be "in control" cause us to get into endless conflict with each other. Neptune could awaken us from the delusion that we have to fight each other to survive (because combat causes so much unnecessary death) or it could spur on a dream of war that generates more wealth for those in power and nothing good for anyone.
Saturn will move through the first several degrees of Aries from May 24-September 1, 2025. It will then return to Pisces, giving us several months to integrate what we've learned and make necessary adjustments before next Winter. This is going to be an impactful transit for all cardinal signs but especially people with planets or points in Aries and Libra. Saturn in Aries is considered to be in fall or depression so this may feel like a difficult adjustment. What happens when the cranky old Grandpa comes to the place of the divine child? The long shadow of strife could dim our light or we could decide not to let anything extinguish our flame and shine even brighter. This Summer is just a preview for the next three years.
Saturn transits Aries from February 2026-April 2028. This is going to be especially impactful for people with planets or points in Aries or Libra, but all cardinal signs (Capricorn and Cancer) will feel the pressure and need to restructure. If you're not sure where it's landing in your life, book a session with your favorite astrologer. The ram is a challenge orientated sign. Aries is undaunted by difficulty and does not shy away from a fight. Over the next three years, we'll be called to take responsibility for our actions, and stand up for what we believe in, even if we pay a personal price for staying true to our principles.
Saturn moves in a spiral pattern and its cycles build upon each other. The last time Saturn transited Aries was April 1996-March 1999, which was another time of great political upheaval and unrest. If you remember, consider what manifested in that area of your chart when it was under construction. Saturn teaches us about time and it encourages us to look backwards, where we have been, so that we can slowly turn our direction towards a more functional future. Scientists have even discovered that Saturn's rings actually make a spiral configuration, which is gorgeous to behold and awesome to contemplate.
Mercury entered its home sign of Gemini at 9PM ET on May 25, inspiring an intellectual approach to these changes at the New Moon. This spirited and smart lunation is conjunct Mercury, and in a sextile with Saturn and Neptune. We're encouraged to take an inquisitive approach to what's unfolding. It can be difficult to meet the new with true openness because past experiences condition us in such a way that it reinforces the past. As the lord of time, Saturn connects us to tradition and history, but it also facilitates transcendence and liberation by helping us break through entrenched patterns.
The Moon in Gemini is clever, curious, and interested in understanding why. The human mind will never stop doubting, but the desire to comprehend can open up new avenues for us. Talking, writing, sketching, or even playing music can help us synthesize our experience. Answers may pop into your consciousness when Mercury goes cazimi, in the heart of the Sun, at 09°01 Gemini at 12:12AM on May 30th.
Mercury's superior conjunction with the Sun, within three degrees of the New Moon, further seeds the energy of this moment into our consciousness. This is a wonderful week to do research into something that is really puzzling you. Mercury can activate anxiety and stimulate our nervous system in stressful ways. As a counter balance, we can relax and allow ourselves to simply receive. Channeling is the practice of allowing a message or energy to come through us from a source recognized as outside ourselves. What we receive may be more of an image, or word package, or concept, but often there is a clear and helpful response to our most burning questions and desires.
This lunation opens a window into one of the luckiest days of the year as Mercury makes a rare conjunction with Jupiter at 29° Gemini on June 8th. This is a fabulous time to make a wish because the universe wants to bring you something good. This is Jupiter's parting gift before it says goodbye to Gemini for another decade and moves into Cancer on June 9th.
Ask and It Is Given is a channeled book about manifesting that borrows its title from a Bible verse:
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."
The law of attraction described in the Abraham-Hicks book posits there is a Non-Physical Intelligence that is constantly communicating with us. Each person has guides that support us in walking our path and finding what is in our highest and best.
The Gemini New Moon and weeks after is the ideal opportunity to speak your desires into existence. Take stock of what is hard and feels like it could never be moved. Change is not just coming, it's here. Miracles happen everyday. Jupiter wants to know what you need to believe. Investigate the power of words and thoughts to shape our reality and notice when you ask what you receive.
