September 7: Pisces Full Moon Eclipse

The Full Moon eclipse at 15°22 Pisces at 2:09PM ET on September 7, illuminates apocalyptic visions, utopian dreams, and our need for practical magic. The North Node in Pisces opens a portal to the creative impulse of spirit, but in Virgo season (Aug 22-Sept 22) the mystical message must also practically serve us.

Saturn's return to Pisces on September 1, just in time for this eclipse, signals the final stage of a process that began in March 2023: to realize our dreams in the Pisces area of life by working towards them tangibly. Over the next five months, Saturn is going to finish what it started by tying up loose ends and asking you to commit to the projects initiated before it entered Aries in May.

The final sail of Saturn's through Pisces until February 13, 2026, is giving us some needed relief from the conflict laden chaos of Saturn in Aries (I hated it). This Pisces Full Moon eclipse activates whatever got put on hold over the Summer and invites you to jump back in right where you left off in the improbable imaginal realm.

Saturn in Pisces is a synthesis of the magical and the mundane. Over the last several years, the Lord of Time has brought some of our dearest held wishes to life, but now we have to carry them out in the material world–what a prospect! This Virgo-eclipse-season invites us to ponder how to create a happy marriage between the sacred and profane. Pisces can delay taking action because hiding in fantasy may actually be preferable to living in reality. Saturn is the wisdom teacher that can help us find God in the details. This weekend is a great time to paint in water colors but don't be surprised if something completely different pops through the portrait.

Mercury's entrance into its favorite sign of Virgo on September 2, is giving Virgo season a detail oriented focus with a touch of pizzaz. Unless inspiration is caught, brought to earth and grounded in reality, it evaporates like our dreams that escape in the morning light before we can write them down. Virgo likes to talk about it, and be about it. Mercury makes an electrifying square with Uranus in Gemini on September 3, so pay attention to what feels like it's breaking apart just before the eclipse.

Uranus entered Gemini on July 7th, the planet of freedom and awakening but hard aspects can feel more like friction and destabilization. This energy will be especially felt each time the Sun transits through the mutable signs (Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Gemini). Uranus stations retrograde at 1°28 Gemini on September 6, just before the eclipse. This is a big bang moment because we always learn what the planet wants to do in our chart at the first retrograde station. It may be hard to parse this effect out from the eclipse but it's a reason to take extra precaution this weekend around overtaking your nervous system.

Virgo season asks us to take stock of what has developed this year before the reaping of the harvest period. We told you 2025 was going to be a change maker and boy did it deliver. This Summer has brought about stunning shifts; people have taken action on ideas that were simmering in the cauldron for years. But too much new is hard for humans. This Fall gives us an opportunity to integrate the tumult. The Pisces-Virgo eclipses get that process started before the Equinox.

I've seen clients take the leap with exciting moves across the country or even to a new continent, start new romantic relationships, and level up their own small businesses ventures. How wonderful, courageous, and brave! The perfect synthesis of Saturn moving between Pisces and Aries. For many people the vision has come true, but now reality comes crashing in. Things inevitably go wrong (that was especially true for August): communication issues, contract negotiations, bills, and accidents ensue. It's enough to make us lose hope that our beautiful dream was actually a good idea.

This Pisces eclipse in Virgo season asks us to figure out how to deal with the difficult adult responsibilities without losing the magic spark that enlivened your heart in the first place. This eclipse builds on Saturn's work and asks us to cultivate our own relationship with divinity. There is a divine thread that runs underneath all the difficulty and drudgery. How do we keep the faith in a world that has broken our hearts so horribly this year? How do we honor the mystery while working towards making the good tangible?

The Moon's beautiful trine with Jupiter in Cancer is amplifying emotional sensitivity and our need to feel connected to community and supported as we create. Pisces is the archetype of the mystic who is internally transformed through personal experience of divinity, and thus becomes able to guide people through the process of healing and rebirth. Surround yourself in the fellowship of the spirit this weekend.

Pisces desires to heal the world through unconditional love and compassion. These qualities are beautiful when experienced in trance, meditation, romance, and love making. They give us glimpses of how we could feel, how the world could be, if we were able to live from our spiritual heart, but they don't help us much with our troubles if we can't access them in the mundane moments of pain. Spiritual figures such as Buddha, Jesus, Quan Yin, and Mary, offer us a model for embodying these divine energies.

Notice what areas of your life could use a dose of practical magic this month. And if you'd like a direct experience of some Merlin transformation, check out this free energy healing session with my VortexHealing® teacher Lorraine Goldbloom on October 2nd.

The Pisces Full Moon eclipse is objectively the more gentler one of the two. Seek to exchange your life and strengthen your connection with the divine before the Sun-Saturn opposition at the Virgo New Moon eclipse on September 21st. Blessings until then.
