October 6: Aries Full Moon

The Aries Full Moon at 11:47PM ET on October 6, empowers you to take action on what's actionable in your life. Self confidence is built by doing hard things, but we can (and should) give ourselves credit for the many small essential tasks we complete every day. Adulting is not easy and it's gotten even harder with the chaos that has been unleashed this year.  The Moon in Aries encourages recognition of how much each of us is doing to show up for ourselves and loved ones, and where it would feel really good on a body and emotional level to take a stab at something new.

The Full Moon at 14°09 Aries illuminates the area of life that has had the most digging and restructuring this year. The Aries house in our chart is where we are most likely to be daring and bold in pursuit of our dreams, but the retrogrades of Mars, Venus, and Mercury brought a whole lot of review and release from January-April. Aries craves freedom and spontaneity but the ingresses of Neptune and Saturn initiated a new era of vision and responsibility from May-September. The historic shifts have been monumental, and they've felt uncomfortable.

Aries activates the need to exert our personal will and volition. Growth is always accompanied by struggle, which is why Aries begins the astrological new year at the Vernal Equinox when life returns to the land. The Sun loves being in Aries because it can move spontaneously and take initiative. Earth is not an easy place and Mars helps us find our way by directing us towards our passions and desires.

Aries season (March 20-April 19) was unique because we had two new moons and the conclusion of the eclipse cycle. This Aries Full Moon illuminates the middle decan and reveals what has changed over the last six months, and where we must take a risk and step into the unknown, before the very Saturnian Vernal Equinox in 2026.

Aries is the pioneer that loves to blaze a trail for others to follow. The plucky spirit of the ram believes in the power of battering forth, but Saturn's entrance into Aries on May 24, brought restraint and a limitation of what is personally possible to achieve over the next several years. What were you shown this Summer about taking personal responsibility? This lesson is going to be further emphasized when Saturn transits Aries from February 2026-April 2028.

Historically, Saturn in Aries has brought the persecution of the unique individual and with the rising tide of fascism we have seen the most vulnerable groups of people targeted just for being who they are. The sHero archetype of Aries is encouraging us to stand up for what we believe. This Full Moon might be a moment to consider what causes you've been meaning to get involved with and lend your personal power to our collective moment building. Creating the change you want to see in the world begins with allowing yourself to be outraged and inspired.

Mars entered Scorpio on September 22, and is ruling this lunation from an empowered position (finally!). The transit of Mars through Libra activated areas of imbalance in our partnerships from August-September. Now we can take action on what needs to be rectified with a sense of capability. This Full Moon stands alone, free from the depressing rays of Saturn and motivated by a square from Jupiter in Cancer.

Venus in Virgo is moving into an opposition with Saturn in Pisces that will peak on October 11, which could bring interpersonal conflicts to the forefront. Arguing is not going to win you any battles and this energy is intensified by the Moon in Gemini creating a mutable t-square, making everyone prone to debate. Try not to worry too much about what goes down as the vibes will massively improve once Venus enters Libra on October 13, as the Moon meets Jupiter in Cancer–how nice.

Life could feel intense until then so try to just focus on what you have the capability to change–yourself and what's under your dominion in your environment. Everything else is a collective endeavor and in God's hands. All of that should feel much smoother once Venus enters Libra and opposes Neptune, helping us imagine an alternative to war and violence and a path towards PEACE. Go with grace.
