February 27: Pisces New Moon
Feelings aren't facts but they are essential to understanding ourselves and the deepest parts of our being. The Pisces New Moon at 7:45PM ET on February 27, in an insightful square with Jupiter in Gemini, helps us to get in touch with what has been coming up and where it arises from.
Pisces is the beginning, the Omega to the Alpha, and all of our issues have an origin story. Where did I come from, is an ancient question and one that takes eons of lifetimes to comprehend.
The compassion of Jupiter's water sign springs from an understanding that each of us struggles with very personal yet universal challenges. We all want love, to feel secure and safe, have enough resources to provide for ourselves and our family, and to live in good health and happiness for as long as possible. It's what unites us that bridges past the pain, conflict, and division to transform our hearts.
Mercury in Pisces has been making life real confusing since February 14; consciousness feels blown to the outer limits and focus is impossible. Its conjunction with Saturn has brought a sobering clarity about the boundaries we need for healthy mutual interdependence.
Emotions don't happen to us. They are natural responses to what's occurring, but often it is hard to decipher why we feel the way we do and what the original trigger was. Feelings emerge from the depths of ourselves, like waves rising on an ocean, pulled by mysterious powerful forces. This lunation wants to help you understand where you came from in the deepest sense and why you react the way you do.
The New Moon at 09°40 Pisces is not an eclipse, despite the Lunar North Node currently transiting Pisces, but they are too far away. The North Node is conjunct Neptune at 27°24 Pisces, amplifying our belief in dreams, but the distance is far enough for the Sun to remain untouched. This lunation is part of the larger restructuring and evolution that began when Saturn entered Pisces in March 2023.
Saturn in Pisces has been amplifying our fears of feeling: the pain of vulnerability and losing ourselves in relationships. Yet its also been bringing greater awareness to our desire for true intimacy and the need to be connected on a soul level with those we love. There is an opportunity to move past the blocks that usually bar the path to union and open to more fully receive all the love from beings, both seen and unseen, who support your life's journey.
The fears of Pisces can cause us to refuse to accept the adventures life offers, it naturally wants to avoid conflict and stress, but there is so much more to be gained by rising to challenging situations that lead to radical inner shifts in perception. Dreams are beautiful but they must be worked towards or else they become nothing more than escapist fantasies we get lost inside that keep us from dealing with reality.
Saturn in Pisces has been helping us create boundaries that enhance self definition, which, in turn, allows us to become more helpful to the collective and fulfill our soul's work. What exactly our individual purpose entails will become more obvious once Saturn moves into Aries on May 24. The dance between the Alpha (Aries) and the Omega (Pisces) will facilitate a radical rebirth this year.
The best way to prepare is to surrender and swim. May the tides carry you home.
